Become an Artist at the Windscape Kite Festival
The Windscape Kite Festival offers a great opportunity for local artists to contribute to a very unique installation in our Kinetic Wind Sculpture Garden. The garden showcases interpretive handmade works by local artists who use their imagination to create prairie wind sculptures. Located beside the activity tents in the open field, the installation is a gazer’s paradise.
Prayer flags flap with gusto while unique silverware mobiles clink and twirl in the wind. Motion and sound combine to make colourful and creative art pieces come alive — from dancing whirligigs to sparkling glass mosaics. Feel, hear, and see how art interacts with the wind in this one-of-a-kind exhibit.
We are always looking for more creative individuals to expand our installation. If you feel inspired to make a unique sculpture of your own, please email artgarden@windscapekitefestival.ca to see how your piece can become a part of our festival. Deadline is June 1, 2023.
The Sculpture Garden is generously funded by Canadian Heritage.
