Ron and Val Ford
“BREEZIN”
Ron and Val have been flying kites since 1991. Known as “Breezin” on the beach, they started flying dual-line kites. After about ten years Ron moved to single-line kite flying and Val concentrated on banners and other fanciful wind socks to create a ground display. Her array of colors creates a stunning, much photographed presence on the beach. Ron enjoys flying his two huge Macaw parrots and two baby parrots. Their colors attract many a photographer. Ron also has many other kites he rotates through to include a 22 foot long Premier fish and a 32 foot long seahorse. Ron and Val have attended numerous kite festivals and participated in the Washington State International Kite Festival every year since 1990 at Long Beach, WA. Over the years awards have been given to them for best beach display, best kite display and, most recently, the People’s Choice Award at the 2019 Grays Harbor Kite Festival, Ocean Shores, WA.
