Team Flying Dragon

Team Flying Dragon, a U.S. west coast based family kite team and 2018 AKA Volunteer of the Year. Brothers Cardin and Dylan Nguyen fly together indoors and outdoors in all disciplines. With perseverance and passion, Team Flying Dragon enjoys volunteering and performing and sharing the joy of kiting with people of all ages. Dylan and Cardin also love STEM and are part of a World Finalist High School Robotics team in their other life.

Dylan Nguyen, a 7-time AKA National Champion and co-organizer of the first World Record Sport Kite Stack. At 15 years old, Dylan created a kite-based multiple award-winning wind energy system. His kite science projects have been recognized at state and national levels.

Cardin Nguyen flies alongside his older brother Dylan indoors and outdoors in all disciplines. Cardin’s laser focus on dual-line stunt kites catapulted his growth since first picking up the kite in his early years. His passion for software development was a valuable asset for his Worlds’ Finalist high school robotics team, alongside his brother Dylan.
